This one is a lot darker than the other series, but I enjoyed it. It was tough reading all the mentions of forced s3xual favors, threats of r@pe and lack of privacy, but I'm glad that Jutari was so protective and able to keep Chloe safe.

I do think such a serious story could have been improved by being longer and more detailed, but then I think it would have just been more intense and upsetting probably. I wish that the two of them would have been at least able to get cleaned at some point. 😅

I will continue reading this universe hoping for another instalment that I like. Alas, this was not the one.

A nice addition to the series, but not one of Ruby's most memorable books.

Such a sweet little story, very short and easy to enjoy quickly. There was a hint of darker themes within the prison that I always enjoy in Ruby’s writing. She touches on death and rape and such in ways that are very palatable while also giving the intensity they require.

Jutari is a giant sweetheart even though he’s a murderous criminal and I’m so here for it. Chloe is also very smart and strong willed, I loved that in her.

I’m happy to go on to the rest of this series.
