Great read

Another great book by Mistral. If you like Fae and intrigue you will love this book. The detail she puts into the book really draws you in.

So after reading up to 70% I took a break from it because I found myself bored and/or annoyed. When I ended up going back to finish I just found myself pushing through instead of actually enjoying it so I DNF. Obviously, there are many people who enjoyed this book so it might be a personal preference.
I think the big reason I did not enjoy the book is I did not like the heroine, Roni. Roni is not your typical heroine which is fine but I feel like she was trying so hard not to be the typical heroine that it got annoying. At a certain point, she was adamant about leaving but she even questioned why considering she had nothing to go back to and was growing to care for Uaine so before a reason came up that made sense it sounded like she wanted to leave because that was what she was supposed to do as a heroine in the story to create tension. It just didn't make sense to me half the time. I also didn't like her manipulation tactics and character in general after a while. I could understand that she did what she did in the past to survive but it becomes hard to read about how the heroine you are supposed to root for manipulated and stole from people and is also attempting to manipulate the hero no matter how unsuccessful she is at it half the time.
I do think this author has great ideas. They have built a very interesting world that is very well done. I just wish that the same amount of effort and thought that was put into the world-building was put into the main characters and their story/relationship.

This series is so much fun.
Richly built Fae world. Leaders of the courts are finding their Fated Mates.
Women fall into Fae realm and get spotted by their men.
Heavy consent is asked for. Which I love. BDSM is used is wonderful and delicious ways.
This girl is a con woman who thinks to use her new relationship with the Summer Prince to get what she wants, but she falls to deeply for him to leave.
I love it so much. Some aspects of this one drug on a bit too long. But it was good.
