I only put it down when I had to cry a little bit. There are parts of this book that mirror my own experiences. It hit very close to home. I absolutely loved how a section was made black and white and then the gradual reintroduction into color. Excellently done. The images chosen to represent the invisible were incredibly powerful. There is so much to this book artistically and emotionally with some great information and messages as well.

I highly recommend Kid Gloves.

I chose this for book club this month, so I'm trying to think in the context of rating it for that when I'm rating it here. It's very different from what we'd normally read, both in being a graphic format and being autobiographical. I really liked the tone, illustration style, and content. I think I mainly would have liked it to be longer - and whenever something really sticks with me or leaves me wanting more, that's pretty definitely a 5 star book!

Quick funny comic read about a woman’s experience of getting pregnant and going through birth.

I loved this so much. I'm so glad such a lovely, whimsical, and most of all honest memoir about pregnancy and childbirth exists! And best of all it's in graphic novel format! Lucy Knisley is a superhero.

Dammit, where was this book when I was in the rodeo that is trying to start a family? Knisley’s stunningly nuanced take on preconception and babymaking and labor and delivery are a must for comic/birth nerds. I was especially grateful for her candor around the out-of-body devastation of multiple miscarriages. Hand this to every TTC person you know.

Quick and easy read, I really loved the honest description of pregnancy and trying to get pregnant paired with a lot of useful facts and myth busting.

WOW. I laughed, I cried HARD, I sat in wonder, and I thought of all the women before and after myself who experience pregnancy and childbirth...

I really love Lucy Knisley's style. And I learned a bunch about pregnancy (both historical and modern!).

I'm not the traditional fan of this: graphic novels aren't my favorite and I have 0 interest in ever being pregnant myself...and YET. This was great.
