A beautifully created memoir. Occasionally sad, often funny, always informative, this book portrays conception and pregnancy with realism and attention to detail that's often lacking.

I'm a big fan of Lucy Knisley so this was automatically going to be rated pretty high for me. Kid Gloves was informative, gave a surprisingly unbiased look on parenthood (especially considering she writes/draws memoirs), and did not at any point seem preachy like the reader should want kids or that it's a blessed experience having children. That being said I do wish that she wasn't quite so gendered, or at least brought up the fact that not all people who birth children are women. And while I love her work, I don't think Lucy does a great job acknowledging the fact that she is privileged (white, straight, grew up very financially stable).

Amazing and excellent but graphic in the omg that is disgusting (vomit, so much vomit) and horrible (eclampsia near death experience) sense of the word as well as being a graphic novel.
