A bit of a slow burner with alternating points of view. This is a stunning piece of crime fiction telling the story of a young woman torn between a rock and a hard place who is simply trying to figure out how to be a mother.Tallulah Murray gets pulled into the shiny, effervescent world of Scarlett Jacques only to end up trapped in a world of murder and deceit wrapped up in a bow called "love".
Desperate to find her daughter and bring her home, Tallulah's mother joins forces with a cosy mystery writer to discover the truth.
I simply adored this piece of writing. The characters were rich and authentic. I loved the depiction of Dark House and it's dark history and how everyone who inhabits its walls befalls some form of tragedy.
100% recommend and cannot wait to read more of Lisa Jewell's work.
