Fascinating plot, great twists and turns, and compelling characters. Dark and horrible plot points, so be warned. But some great surprises and wonderful storytelling.

Thoroughly enjoyable. If you've seen the 2011 film, you've basically already read the book. There are minor differences here and there, but not much. I will say the characters were a little two dimensional, and the pacing a little uneven (and there's no getting around the fact that you're reading a rather brutal tale involving more than a little rape). It is a thoroughly unique story, though, and rather satisfying.

Started off really slow for me and I almost wanted to give up on it very early on. Was more intrigued by the murder mystery plot and the Vanger family and did not care much for the Wennerstrom plot. The mystery kept me guessing and I had no idea what was going to happen until it was revealed. Not sure how I feel about Lisbeth Salander. I certainly do feel bad for her trauma and I enjoyed her getting her payback for what was done to her but did not care about 2 female characters being in love Blomkvist.
