I liked very much this one, I lkied how Frannie learned the difference between love and need. Although the ending was I don't know, to dreamy for me. Anyway I really recommend this trilogy.

Incompleto, confuso y aburrido... Horrible

I have liked the first two books. I mean, it's good, but not until the level of goooooood yet, you know?

It's one of the only books with demons on the market, but still, I think 'The Demon Trapper' beats this. Sorry Lisa Desrochers!

I guess my biggest problem with this book is that Frannie still isn't able to choose the guy she likes in the end. Gabe's humanity is burnt and he is not able to feel anymore? That is like God making the decision for her you know?

And the classic love triangle. I cannot help but wonder what is so good with Frannie anyway? I cannot really see something special in her that connects her with the other two guys. Not the same hobbies or passions or beliefs. Nothing. Nada.

Sorry if I sound mean, but this is my honest opinion. Sorry Lisa Desrochers. Again. Hope you have new ideas and improve in the future!

GoodReads Synopsis: In this final installment of the thrilling, edgy Personal Demons series, the battle between Heaven and Hell has become critical, and Frannie Cavanaugh is right at the center of it.

With the help of the powerful angel Gabe and demon-turned-mortal Luc, Frannie has been able to stay one step ahead of the forces of Hell. But when the demons killed Frannie's best friend and destroyed her brother, they raised the stakes. If Frannie wants to keep her family and friends safe, she knows she has no choice but to go on the run.

Their best defense is the power Frannie has been struggling to master, but her attempts to hone her skill go horribly awry. If Frannie doesn't learn fast, the consequences could be devastating--even apocalyptic.

What happens when you can't outrun Hell...or trust the ones you love?

My Thoughts: Just when you think you know where a story is going, BAM, Lisa DesRochers throws ya a curve ball.

We always knew it was going to come down to a battle with King Lucifer…all the revelations leading up to that battle and then what goes down during that “battle” were surprising and “edge of your seat”. There is still so much we don’t know about Frannie…a lot Frannie doesn’t know about herself as we start “Last Rite”.
I thought we would see more of Matt and Gabe’s transformation made for some compelling reading. A couple of new characters are introduced to add tension and will become pivotal. And all the talk of King Lucifer and his motivations was really interesting and thought provoking. Ultimately Frannie has to follow her heart and figure out what and who to believe. Which isn’t as easy for her to do as you might think.

From beginning to end, this was a very compelling and enjoyable series. I loved all the characters, especially Luc, Gabe, and Grampa Ed. I’m a sucker for stories of redemption. And while I’m sorry to see it end, just like all really good series, I’m emotionally invested in the characters and look forward to revisiting the books in the future.

SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't read the first two books in this trilogy this review will contain spoilers.

Last Rite is the perfect ending to the Personal Demons trilogy. Lisa Desrochers tied everything up nicely and I was left with a smile on my face. While I'm sad to say goodbye to the great characters I'm completely satisfied with the way things ended.

Frannie is just as kick-ass as ever but she isn't quite as spunky as she was in the previous books. A lot has happened and grief has made her a more somber person. Seeing her upset so much was a very different side of her. She finally realized that not everything was in her control and it changed her a lot. However she still managed to retain her spark, she just was a bit more mature.

For the first half of the book Luc was a very different guy than he'd been in the past, at least on the outside. He was mean, hurtful, and just didn't seem to care. However that's not what he felt on the inside. It was clear how much Luc loved Frannie and at times I felt so sad for him. He just couldn't figure out what was best for both him and Frannie. Gabe didn't help matters. He is a very different Gabe from the first two books. He's still kind and caring but he's become more interested in beating Lucifer than in protecting Frannie. Also, his feelings for Frannie really came out in this book. I like Gabe but, no matter what, I've always been and always will be Team Luc.

Now there were some cliffhangers from the previous two books but I'm happy to say they were all tied up. Readers get to find out more about Frannie's family, including Matt, as well as what Frannie's true purpose really is. Some things didn't come as huge surprises but there were definitely some things I didn't see coming.

As for the plot, it's a little slow to pick up but the second half of the book is non-stop surprises and action. It definitely made up for the first half which was more talk and build-up. Honestly, it's impossible to be bored with these books.

Overall, Last Rite is everything readers could want. I can't wait to see what Lisa Desrochers does next.

The final book in this trilogy was intense, heartwarming and everything I could have possibly asked for. Even though the whole every one blaming themselves for everything drove me more than a little crazy! I was a little worried about how this book was going to end. I have to give it to the author for pulling everything together at the end. I'm interested to see what is next for this author. I'll be willing to read it!

this book was a good wrap up of the personal demons series!! altough i did that the book had TOO much conflict.... there was happy times w/ Luc... then there were the sad times..... then happy .......then sad.... then happy.... then sad and then happy!! i mean seriously!! No book character has that many relationship problems within the course of, like, 2 months!! completely unrealistic!! i was rootin' for Gabe... turns out he was a d-bag..... i rooted for luc... turns out hes a d-bag as well.. so i compared the pros and cons of both and decided i would be happy w/ whoever Frannie chose.
Overall the book was enjoyable and entertaining!! cutos author on keeping the story interesting the whole book.... good job on the mythology too!! i've read alot of books... and not all of them have good mythology or realistic relationships and time frames like this book did!! Overall well done.... (spoiler here: i wish you had said if rhen was the knew king of hell!! left me a little confusled!!)

I read the first two books in this trilogy last year, in fairly quick succession. I read the first book a week or two before BEA and was full of hope that I'd be able to get book two at BEA, saving me from having to wait a few extra weeks to read it. (I was not that lucky.) Fast forward to now, a year later. I still love this series, one of the most fun paranormal YA offerings in recent memory. I love Frannie and her two potential boyfriends, Luc (short for "Lucifer," a guy who used to be a demon but who was redeemed by his love for Frannie) and Gabe (as in "Gabriel," an angel who also has feelings for Frannie...and whose feelings are also returned). This is one of those love triangles where either guy is a good one and without telling you who she ultimately chooses, it was a good decision on her part.

And while I love Frannie, wow, she was stupid in this book. Any time there was a decision to be made, if one was smart and the other dumb, she would always pick the dumb one. Every time. But even so, it's hard not to love Frannie.

I'm not entirely sure I think the ending for the trilogy (as in the actual ending, not the resolution for the love triangle) was a good one; it seems a little bit unlikely. But it also didn't dampen any of my enthusiasm for this book in particular or the series in general. (And I really want people to read it so I can discuss that.)

This is a ridiculously fun series and I'm incredibly sorry that it's over. Recommended.
