Update 5/2/22 - Not me rereading this entire series after finishing Shane and Ilya's second book
I absolutely love this series of romances set in the elite world of professional hockey. I don’t know jack about hockey, but Reid sure knows how to turn the feelings (and the steam) up to 11. I’ve now read the first two books in the series, and each time I put aside everything else I was doing to finish them in a single day. Definitely saving the rest of the series for a time when I really need the boost.

This book was wholly not for me.
I didn't vibe with the writing style off the bat, but I kept reading in hopes the characters would grow on me. They did not. The plot is very sparse and also obvious. I usually say insta-love/lust doesn't bother me in a romance, but this style of it absolutely does. The ratio of sex scenes to meaningful conversation (let alone plot and character development) was atrocious for my tastes. The fast pace of plot events and relationship milestones created a lack of gravitas I felt the moments and mood deserved.
This isn't a bad story if it's what you're looking for, but it's more along the line of fanfiction, written as though the characters and situations have been established outside of the work itself.

这本昨晚肝到四点[笑cry][笑cry][笑cry]。Scott向自己的朋友come out的时候，损友说以为他男朋友是Rozanov，Scott说：他倒是想！后面又被问不是Rozanov吧，真笑出猪声。因为是先看的heated，所以每次看到Rozanov出来都觉得很亲切。后面球场名场面，我还特意回heated看了一下当时电视机前的两个吃瓜群众[笑cry][笑cry][笑cry]最后MVP 演讲很感动[泪][泪][泪]
虽然这本在GR没有《Heated Rivalry》评分高，但我觉得也很好看啊，Scott反差萌好可爱，每次他和kip说话我脑子里都自带哭腔了不知道为什么

Daring to be yourself despite the circumstance is scary and when you have a million reasons to fit in rather than break the mold it is damn impossible.Scott defies those odds after trying to live according to everyone but denying himself.One blueberry smoothie changes his entire look life and how it is time to change.
Kip!( how cute is the nickname <3) Kip reminds me of all of us,required to have our entire life figured by a certain age and should be doing this or that by this age.Scary expectations that we put on ourselves is unfair .We are reminded to be gentle with ourselves and we will find the answers eventually.
The polar opposites one who has his life together (Scott) and the hot mess (kip) come together and make everything better and their love story? Love at first sight is real y'all.
Friends like Cater and Elena are for keeps too!
