Book one in the Bell Harbour series by Tracy Brogan narrated Lori Reyes.
Sadie has just divorced her husband for cheating feeling like a change she spends the summer with her weird but loveable aunt Dody that lives on a beach.
When Sadie go to stay with Aunt Dody she hoping for a man free zone but then finds out her cousins are staying at the house as well.
Jasper is a chef with a girlfriend and Fontaine is gay and fancies his friend Kyle but not quite plucked the courage to as him out.
I've got to say Dody and Fontaine really make this book for me they are both hilarious and really try to help Sadie bring out her inner goddess to seduce Des.
While staying with aunt she meets her neighbours Des who is working in local hospital.
A lot of what Sadie gets up to or for a better word for it is fuck up's when trying to date Des remind me so much of Bridget Jones's diary absolutely hilarious and at times if I was Des I would have given up on the crazy women.
Good ending even though felt a bit rushed would have liked a epilogue just to finish of the HEA. My only hate about this book was Lori Reyes narration for Des's Scottish accent was more Irish which did at times ruined the listening experience.

Cute, fun, light read. Nothing too deep, and sometimes that is just the kind of book you need. I did, and this fit the bill.

This book was really cute. I felt so bad for Sadie in the beginning what a terrible thing to have to be stuck with a man like Richard who clearly doesn't care about anyone but himself. I loved the kids they were adorable and I loved how Des was with them. Fontaine was such a character that he literally made me laugh out loud a few times. The few things I didn't care for were Sadie's assumptions about Des the entire time. The first two times I understood but after that it was just kind of like really what else does the poor guy have to prove! In the end I really enjoyed and I'm glad Sadie loosened up and ended up being really happy. I really enjoyed and would definitely recommend it.

This is my first novel by this author so I was skeptical at the start. From the first chapter I was hooked with the characters, the humor and the warmth of it all. Very interested to see what else she's written.

Just okay

The plot is nice, but there is too much inner dialogue from the main character. The writer skips all the intimate scenes. Not a lot of grammar errors, which is awesome compared to other books I’ve read recently. The ending was a little predictable, but well done.

The perfect, quick-read chick-lit book.

I usually opt for a chick-lit story in between heavy murder-mystery novels, and being that I've been binge reading Stephen King, I needed this.

Obviously, there's a love story and that exists between Sadie and Des, which is cute and in some was typical. But what made this book incredibly charming is the family dynamic. The personalities of Aunt Dody, Fontaine, and Paige are just a few of my favorites. They are all so distinct and yet none of them overshadow one another.

I found myself literally laughing out loud, face-palming myself out of embarrassment for Sadie, and stupidly giddy over Des.

It's no literary genius. It's no noble prize. What it is is a damn cute story that keeps you smiling the entire time.

I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, easy to be interested in, light and summery, with touching humor throughout.

Sadie, the main character and narrator, is recently divorced and goes to spend the summer with her aunt. Her aunt, Dody, happens to be crazy in a flaxseed-lover and physic-believer sort of way, but is a lovable and funny character. Sadie's cousins, one a flamboyant decorator and the other a chef, are also funny characters who really add to the story.

Living near her aunt for the summer is Des, a physician working in town only for the summer. He's not overly dramatic the way men in some romance novels are, which I appreciated.

Anyway, it's a great (and really fast) summer (or beach) read.
