If I wasn't reading this for a book club I wouldn't have finished it. I don't understand at all what I was supposed to take away from this book other than grad school sucks.

I struggled with this book, not while reading it but after I put it down. In the first pages I was afraid it was going to be a copy of A Little Life, which seriously impressed me, but I didn’t want to read a retelling. It developed in sort of a similar story but told completely different. At the end I didn’t get a feeling of closure, which left me a bit disappointed. Another problem for me is that I got seriously annoyed with Wallace’s attitude to life.
