Her writing style is good but the content wasn’t relatable to me so I didn’t actually enjoy the book

Irby has the comic skill of picking up on little things that most people can relate to, but just haven't thought of before. For example, I laughed out loud through the first chapter, where in the list of things she needs and wants and can't do, she says, "I don't know how to fucking alphabetize hyphenated last names." It's little things like this that really struck me and made me chuckle. This book is just funny. She talks about serious topics like family, poverty, health, dating, friendship, etc. However, it's all written in a witty, unique, and sort of conversational style. I almost felt like I was hearing her speak, rather than reading her words.

Didn't feel the need to finish this reread. Wasn't one to read again.
