My 1 year old nephew loves this book! It drives me crazy though. Such odd word choices.

This book is OK if you are looking for an introduction to different farm animals. The rhyming scheme was terrible, the author rhymed words with themselves several different times in the text which seems lazy and was irritating.

Love!
The full page color illustrations are beautiful and fun. The story is made up of adorable rhymes. My son enjoyed identifying and counting the animals. Since we both enjoyed it, 5 stars.

There's no story, but this is a charming, well-illustrated introduction to farm life and barn animals.

I guess this is exactly what you would expect from a classic barnyard tale.
I mean you are not going to get murdered chooks with a salty detective cow mooing his way through aa he solves the crime.
Well that does sound entertaining, but this was not that, this was standard this is a barn and so forth and so on.

There is something utterly wonderful in the simplicity of Margaret Wise Brown's farm story. Its by far my favorite of her books and I love the calm and gentle manner in which this book describes an afternoon on the farm. Good rhymes and chances to make animal sounds and count together. This book would be ok for a storytime but is absolutely terrific for reading aloud, one on one. A must for every household.
