In the mist of biblical references hides the most insane an rediculus spy novel. Funny, absurd, intriguing and only sometimes predictsble.

Minor: Racism
This book was written over a century ago and there are three or four uncomfortable uses of words for POC that would not and should not fly today. Not slurs as I remember, but descriptors that nevertheless are now rightly considered dehumanising. My perception was that the use of these words was a matter of now-outdated language more than an enthusiasm towards racism and they were limited compared to other books of the same era, but I can't speak for how a POC would experience it.jakobvongunten's review against another edition

I enjoyed everything (the humor, the acerbic dragging of the rich and the zany reveals) besides the ending that was weird but not in a good way.
