Death has made appearances in every Discworld book so far (my understanding is that this continues throughout the series), but this is the first where Death is more of a central character -- though most of what we learn is through Death's apprentice, Mort. A neat way to really start to flesh out Pratchett's cosmology and how he approaches Death (and death) on the Discworld.

It was ok but I didn't love it. I almost DNFed it but I knew it was short and an easy read. Loved Death, but I don't know. It was all a bit muted, just ok at every corner.

I absolutely loved this book. I didn't expect to get so much enjoyment out of a book that's about Death, but Pratchett's phenomenal writing style made it possible. I never expected to sympathize with Death, but here we are. All in all, a charming story taking place in a funny and fantastical world.
