Look, it's fine. I needed something to listen to while doing a bunch of chores and this was good entertainment value for that. I didn't love the Americanization of stuff that's supposed to be so Australian it oozes off the page.
I will say my dissatisfaction with the story was somewhat alleviated by what I consider to be the MC making the right choice in the end, which was somewhat predictable once the 'big' question was answered.
Didn't hate it, but wouldn't necessarily recommend unless it's exactly what you're looking for- emotional, dead parent, grief, betrayal, will they won't they, country girl in the big scary city.
