Aww, this was cute and sweet and made me smile! Well done. Just enough intrigue and drama to keep the plot going without it being overly obnoxious.

Romance novel

She hates him because she loves him. He hates himself because he loves her. They are both engaged to the wrong person. Can those who love them fix it?

When I read this description, I though that Lord Roxton had to marry Abby. Apparently, I read that wrong. There seemed to be a lot of roundabout in this. They're together, they're not. Then, they're together again. Then they're not. Then they are. I was kinda getting bored by the end. I knew they were going to end up together. It just took a VERY long time. I don't think I will be continuing with this series.

Abigail absolutely hates Nicolas. Not just because he had courted her and then ghosted her. That had been bad enough. He was at the heart of an event that caused a scandal that ruined her entire family. Now it's up to her to save her family by sacrificing herself on the altar of marriage. It's all his fault.

Nicholas knows its his fault and is now trying to do better. He needs to do better, to be better. He can't afford to let the feelings he had for Abigail interfere in his plans. He has to prove himself better.

When they find themselves together again, they realize those old feelings are still alive and well. Can they find a way to be together or will their circumstances pull them apart?

This was a fun read.

I confess that I finished this book in under 72 hours. That is that fastest I've read a book of such length. The the two characters being so torn it was almost doubtful that the author would pull them from such upheaval. What kept me coming was the author's style. I absolutely love it.

This historical romance had all the elements I look for: a strong heroine, a hero with issues to deal with, lots of tension and a whole lot of romantic goodness. I really enjoyed this book; I gave it four stars for a few pacing issues and because I feel that there was just a little something missing for five. But overall, this is a great book, ideal for an evening in bed :)
