Carina is hopeful to have a traditional Christmas with her family after a tumultuous battle with COVID, but no one is interested or able to comply with her wishful plans. Her children are scattered across the country and her husband is forced to work for the holiday. The only person who is as enthusiastic about the Christmas season is a young man from her grief group. To make her Christmas dreams come true, the young man from her grief group offers up his family cabin in the mountains of Colorado. Carina isn't adventurous but could she really pass up this perfect opportunity?

Relatable, cozy and sure to put you in the holiday spirit. A Crossbow Christmas is a great read for Christmas time. Many readers can relate to the main character, Carina, and her journey to healing while living through the pandemic. Ann Swann does a great job in telling Carina's story while also bringing an element of adventure and whimsy. Carina is surrounded by a cast of other loveable characters who allow and enable her to grow throughout the story. The small town, mountain setting also sets the scene for this sweet Christmas story.
