More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark was far better than the first, but I feel a lack of storytelling with all these stories. Some of them seem just like a factual little thing that I guess some may find scary. Perhaps I'm too desensitized anymore.

This book(as well other books by Alvin Schwartz) was/were some of the MOST POPULAR books in my small elementary school library. I read this book around the age 10(I plan on rereading it soon). I remember it being very scary(duh!), but it drew me in. I checked this book out many times.

This was definitely my least favorite book in the series.

Points for nostalgia, but the only scary thing about these stories were the illustrations. You have to embellish a lot to make even a little kid jump at the end. Maybe I just know really resilient kids?

Best stories were “The Bride,” “The Drum,” “The Cat in a Shopping Bag,” and “Wonderful Sausage.”

The second book in the series, More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, is a decent collection of short stories. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first in the series.
