If it is a .5 star I round up

I loved this series during middle school and still do. Raven and her vampire boyfriend Alexander are dealing with Jagger and Luna Maxwell vampire twins that are from Alexander's home town in Romania. The families were extremely close until Alexander "betrayed" the Maxwells by refusing to turn and bond with Luna for eternity. Now Jagger is out for revenge for humiliating his family and Luna is still after Alexander romantically.

This was even less enjoyable than the first two in this series, but is that going to stop me from finishing the series? No. There is just something so addicting about these books, and I can't quite put my finger on what it is. It's so unlike anything I've read before, and the only character I really like is the side character Luna. I am interested to see where the rest of this series is headed though.

I really enjoyed seeing Raven's growth as a character, although she still is a bit of a ditzy teen. Adding a new character every book keeps the story fresh, but so far it hasn't felt strained or forced. I look forward to reading the next one!

This will be a quick review and mostly with gifs.

I am entirely enjoying this serie. There is just ONE thing that bothers me. (This spoiler is mild and okay as long as you've read the first book.)
Spoiler Alexander and Jagger have been vampires since birth, yet nothing is discussed about it. Raven, who is obsessed with vampires never even ASKED him about how it was GROWING UP a vampire? I mean, NO ONE turned him. WHY IS THIS NOT DISCUSSED? Hopefully it will come up in the next book.

The books are increasing in stars as we go on. I'll keep you updated. (Thanks, Taylor. I love you and hate you).

Final Tallies:

"Blood-red" - 4 times mentioned
"Combat boots" - 5 times mentioned

Memorable "Raven-isms"

"I thought you loved bad dreams..." "I know, can you believe (I hated) it?"

"Frustrated, he pushed back his black hair, his earrings catching in the moonlight." (Like the 90s punk rock boy he is).

"The slobbering pair."

"I ran among the tombstones, as quiet as a wandering ghost following Alexander's figure."

"Wow, with a few more spiderwebs and a couple of ghosts this place would be perfect."
"This could be ours," Alexander said, holding me close.

"I was greeted by my handsome boyfriend standing in a black-and-white bowling shirt and black jeans with hanging silver chains, wearing a smile that could melt any sixteen-year-old vampire-obsessed goth."

"I imagined the rest--flying high in Dullsville's sky, living in a spooky dungeon, Alexander and I cuddling the day away in a king-sized coffin."

"I thought at any minute we were going to have a cat fight--or in our case, a bat fight."

You're welcome and goodnight.
