The idea and premise for this book is great, however the execution not so much. At first I thought it was doing so well with the topic and then in the end I was disappointed how it was handled. I didn’t like the victim focus on “innocent men” I also felt like there was too much unnecessary side stuff. It would make a great TV show, enough material there. I would still recommend for people to read this

I have mixed feelings about this book. It started off strong by setting up the tension from the beginning, cleverly incorporating different reactions to abuse allegations alongside the London millennial rhetoric.

The characters were wonderfully written to ensure the story was provocative throughout. Filled with micro-aggressions, misogyny and a sprinkle of homophobia, you will cringe and rage at.

However, the ending is where I’m left undecided. I felt the last plot twist wasn’t needed, I wanted more closure on where the friendships stood and that we only really got Michael’s ending. I also think it’s a shame how little focus is on the actual victims although we can attribute that to the perspectives only being Ola’s & Michael’s.

But, the overall ending was a good choice because it made it realistic to how the internet truly responds to these situations. A great one to discuss further in a book club.

Wow, blown away with the twists and turns of this book. Incredibly thought-provoking and well written/narrated.

I really liked how the switching POVs worked in this story as we saw Michael’s perspective and got the truth through him while also experiencing Ola’s doubt throughout the story and her trying to find a way to balance her relationship and her activism and trying not to become a hypocrite towards her own views.

The ending had me in shock as well, I was on the bus absolutely gobsmacked reading that!

I wanted to like this book, but I agree with a lot of the other reviews  about how this could have been an impactful book and sadly fell short
