This book had me gasping and yelling 😂

What an incredibly harrowing concept. I wish I could thank Yomi Adegoke personally for writing this 😳

It keeps you guessing until the very end too. There was nary a moment where I was not hooked 🗣️

I thought I had clocked it when Celie started speaking to Ola about Michael, but NO! Aaron? Fucking eh! 😫

Highly recommend this one for an anxiety-inducing book! 4.5 out of 5 stars for me, thank you ✨ Content warnings below!

Clearly I'm in a minority over here, but I enjoyed this book! Some small spoilers below!

You can tell the writer is a journalist by trade, there's parts of the book which feel a bit repetitive as if the author isn't used to writing long form but it is also broadly well written and compelling. I've been in a reading slump and finished this in a day so thank you Adegoke!

I found the story really compelling, who do you believe when allegations come to light?
The fact that we get multiple points of view means we know early on that Michael isn't guilty, or at least he doesn't think he is. Because so often, people don't believe they have done something wrong when to an outside eye they clearly have.

All the characters were flawed - which again I loved. This wasn't a case of one person being perfect and the other being awful, we're all flawed (albeit to different degrees).

I have mixed feelings about the "twist" at the end. On the one hand, I liked that the exaggerated accusations didn't come from a woman, because they tend not to. But it did also feel a little rushed.

On the whole, I'd recommend this as a summer read.

Not sure how I felt about this one. From the get go, you know it's going to be hard for the author to write a complete story, which way to go, will it be a cliche etc. I felt that the author did a good job of showing the grey and the middle ground reaction and action of the characters. The last chapter was such a random plot twist, not sure how I felt about it
