I loved this novel. If I could have given it 10 stars I would have. I felt like I could have put myself as a character and would have made the same decisions. The jumping back to the present kept me guessing and I got it wrong 3 times before realising (that sounds cryptic but when you’ve read it you’ll know what ‘it’ means) At the end of the book it was twist upon twist and even though I had already guessed one of them, it didn’t ruin the enjoyment - and there was more to it than I had guessed. Brilliant book by a brilliant author!

That Night by Gillian McAllister
I give this book 4.25 stars

What would you do to protect your family?
During a family holiday in Italy, you get an urgent call from your sister.
There's been an accident: she hit a man with her car and he's dead.
She asks for your help. She'd cover for you, so will you do the same for her?
But when the police come calling, the lies start. And you each begin to doubt your trust in one another.
What really happened that night?
Who is lying to who?
Who will be the first to crack?

The title really helps define the plot and it will certainly leave you with something to think about!
A powerful and intense read that kept me guessing all the way through ,l was hooked and couldn’t put it down.Told between the past (that night) and present, from the 3 siblings pov. Complex and real characters and a fantastic plot as the truth unfolds make this a must read book,so go grab your copy!
With thanks to Netgalley,Gillian McAllister and Penguin Michael Joseph for my chance to read and review this book.

This took a long time to get into, and even after finishing, I’m not sure how I feel about it. I found the Plant siblings to be strange - if I worked with my siblings & lived next to them, I’m pretty sure we would revert to the teenage versions of ourselves, which would not be fun for anyone. I found it hard to like them or have much sympathy for them as they just kept doing dumb things. I found the story to be really drawn out, and thought that much of the first half was a write-off. There were enough shocks in the second half to keep me entertained but it just didn’t meet my expectations.

I liked the storyline of this book, but I felt it was dragged on for too long and I don’t know why but I just didn’t like the way it was written, was an easy read though.
