Scott Erickson’s meditations and powerful artwork pull back the veil on the ornate and popularized representation of Advent to invite one to connect with God through down-to-Earth humanity, through being. And through simplicity comes reimagining and recentering with oneself and with God. A book I will return to, if not throughout the year, likely next Advent.

“That’s the invitation in our lives today: to witness that same arrival of God-With-Us in all the expected and unexpected realities of our human lives. An honest Advent that leads to an honest hope.”

Highly recommend this Advent devotional. There were so many sections that I copied into my journalling Bible.
