This was hard to read at first because it took me a while to get used to the new characters. But I fell in love with them. I especially love Leo. He’s my baby and no one better hurt him or I will be throwing hands.

A whole host of new heroes and adventures for Camp Half-Blood. While it took me a good 100 pages to accept Percy is not in this book and missing him terribly, I did come to love Jason, Piper, and Leo as characters. I was also surprised by how much more developed Riordan's writing feels in this book when compared to the entirety of the first series. I did find some of the monster fights a bit repetitive, but it was a fun read all-around and I'm excited to read the next installment!
