I enjoyed the anecdotes from his various patient encounters, as well as other weird things the author has learned to do outside of medicine (which influenced and inform his perspective as a doctor). One that's really going to stick with me is his description of tanning a deer hide. :O I heard the author on an NPR interview, which inspired me to check out his book.

I’ve been a nurse for 18 years and this was wonderful book reminded me of the curiosity that brought me towards learning about the body in the first place. The author tells of his learning journey, that is still ongoing, through stories of illness and injury that he helped people get through. It’s a humble journey, that keeps the curiosity spark alive. Wonderment is present as you journey with the author through the body. Ultimately keeping in mind, the questions that we never will really know unless we can see it with our own eyes. And therein is the wisdom in keeping alive an active imagination with vivid pictures of how it could be that the small things happen.

This was fun and educational. More fun than educational, but still very fun!

Great book to learn from personal experiences on 14 different parts of the body (each chapter is an organ or body part).
Forward moving, and different takeaways for everyone.

This was an entretaining book but it only delves on surface level knowledge of the human body. Mostly it's the author's life experiences and outlook on life, which was hilarious to me because at points it reads like the man went "ok I only get to publish ONE book so time to get every idea I've ever had out in print"
Graphic: Blood, Excrement, Injury/Injury detail, Medical content, and Terminal illness
Minor: Addiction and Eating disorder

Enjoyed the audiobook. Would be a good straight read as well. I’ve read a lot of these types of books. This wasn’t anything particularly staggeringly new, but it kept my attention and was well-written.
