Rendan follows right on the heels of Kozav. It gives us conflict, prejudice, honesty, and love.

WOW. This one was emotional. Oh My! I really enjoyed this story. We get the back story for both our main characters which gives depth to them and their romance. Carla and Rendan both have suffered in one way or another. Rendan’s career makes things a little more difficult, but they eventually find their way.

The Knowing is what drives the series and helps these characters come together. Each story is different, the characters each have different pasts and issues to work through, the world building is gradually, and the romance is hot and steamy.

This book series is related to The Ujal series and that reading Dashing Through the Stars would be helpful. Well, you can guess if you have read a few of these. I haven’t read The Ujal series or Dashing Through the Stars no I started with the 2nd book and then went and found as many as I could find on my library application. I am not usually a fan of Sci/fi romance, I can only assume that this came up in my reading list because I do occasionally read paranormal/shifter romance and have a few dragon shifter romance novels in my favorites list. I was surprised that I liked so many of these. The series uses the special mate trope that is common in paranormal/shifter romance novels. How can we not love the thought that there is someone out there destined to be ours forever?

Dashing Through the Stars (novella)
Jerek
Taulan
Kozav
Rendan
Zadri
Hatched
Ivoth (didn’t finish)
Brukr (didn’t read yet)
A Baby for Chashan (didn’t read yet)
Argan (didn’t finish)
Vende (didn’t read yet)
Whelon (didn’t read yet)

If you like this trope I would recommend this surprising series and I will be adding The Ujal series to my TBR for 2021.

I really enjoyed this story! Rendan and Carla are excellant characters. I started rooting for them from the beginning of the story. Neither one of them have had the best time growing up but it has made them stronger people. they just have to learn how to communicate with each other. I loved the way that Rendan courted Carla. It was adorable. Rendan is going through the Syh trials, trying to find his partner while also trying to court his mate and figure things out with her. Carla is trying to figure out her mate and adjust to the fact that she is mated to a miliatary man. I really enjoyed the way that this story flowed. It is everything that I have come to expect from Erin Tate/Celia Kyle. The sex is explicit but it is full of emotion and connection between the characters and there is plenty of action and intrigue as we find out how everything is going to work out.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ho - hum.

Standard fare this one. Nothing really stands out except the fact that this author has an awesome niche she could be working to the fullest, but never really gets utilized. Kyle has a sassy kick ass sense of humor, knows what makes a great alpha, but always o lynn seems to graze the surface with all of her series and books. I want to love her stuff yet I always seem to finish wanting a lot more...more snark, more humor, more kick ass alpha domination and possession...just more.

2 1/2 This started a lot more promising than Kosav but ended up being about the same meh to good. The lies just ruined it for me. And the reasoning was so superficial. Argh!
Spoiler He gets birth control operation and not only doesn't discuss it with her, what he thinks that after a year she is going to start questioning?, he lies to the doctor and says she is insisting on it. Their society is in dire need of breeding females. Then the doctor? He reacts by shunning her and she has no idea what is going on. The doctor is way out of line but OK his culture is in need, I'll forgive that. Rendan gets none.
Then so many times she is left on her own to get attacked. Their extremist and attacks when they supposedly are so careful with their females. argh! Every book the same. I'm going to try the Urdal but might end up stopping as I'm not enjoying them much anymore. They are quick scifi rom (not erotic at this point) and the romance gets turn in a mangled by the deceit.

Quick, easy read, well written and packed full of emotions!
I enjoyed this couple, hero needed a back of the head whack on one main thing but overall was wholesome and loving. Heroine had some issues but grew into herself and stood up for herself which was great to see. They resolved their issues with some good communication and I really loved their relationship throughout 🥰
Steamy sex scenes all round, with the first two encounters being my personal favs 🙌🏻
Added well to the overall series and I think I’ll be reading another before too long!

The Bottom Line
Probably my least favorite at this time. Considering it’s supposed to be based on insta-love, I wasn’t exactly feeling it. These two both made questionable choices and hurt each other while choosing to be together. It’s an ok read.
