Narrated by Harlow Estrada, after being fired from an editing job and a break up with a boyfriend, Harlow retreats to her family farm in Mexico.
Cervantes’s plot reminded me of Disney’s Encanto.

“I will bloom even in dark times”

“You have to jump from the highest cliff that makes you sick to think about…and if it doesn’t make you sick, then the cliff isn’t high enough”

I finished the Audiobook ARC of this book in less than 48 hours. If I could have found a way to listen

Most cozy witchy magical reads feel very autumnal to me but this was the perfect summer magical read!! From the first chapter I was completely drawn in to Harlow’s world and my GOD was a certain scene near the beginning satisfying. This definitely scratched the cozy magical itch I’ve had and I’m very excited to dive into the rest of Cervantes’s work! Five stars, no notes.

Having just read The Witch of Wild Things, this was disappointing.
