SO GOOD!!! I loved every second of this. It felt like a drug-fueled lucid dream, which I think was the point. It reckoned with obsession, women, sexuality, drugs and so many more things that a lot of books shy away from, especially all at once. I applaud the author. The only thing is that this book was missing a feeling of authenticity. I didn’t feel that these characters were real, that they were doing molly across the sea right at this moment. They felt to me like TV characters, not real people. Whether intentional or not, it felt like an editorial look at the topics rather than a snapshot of real life.

Kind of … speechless right now. This was an emotional rollercoaster and so many of the scenes and sentences in this are so beautifully sad and deep and poignant. This felt to me like the universe apologizing for me reading my year of rest and relaxation (which I hate the further I get from it) — this book was an answer to that. It emotionally captured the same idea without being fucking miserable. This is a story for women in their twenties !!!!! Strongly recommend

I really wanted to like this book – it started out very interesting – but I really don't. Latent racism, unnecessary violence, sphinx without a secret. I'm sad at how angry this book made me.

Nightshift was a story of intoxicating infatuation and obsession, an exploration of sexuality and queerness, and an addictive read.

I was always dying to carry on when I’d finished and loved the experience of listening to it. It wasn’t really what I was expecting at first but it was so much better than that, and it really deserves the highest of praise.

There are some very emotional and challenging elements to the book from start to finish, as we explore the characters and learn more about their experiences and interactions. The ending was unexpected but it really finished the story off perfectly and in a very believable, finite way.

I really do think that Nightshift will stay with me for a very long time and would highly recommend it. 5 stars.
