This is a dark, tragic, emotional ride, and nothing really happens for 3/4s of the book but it’s wonderful, and it's beautiful and I devoured it.

The descriptions of the mundane and small feels revolutionary and so vivid. It reads like poetry. Its smart, it's go subtext, it loops on itself, it's funny, it's sad - chefs kiss 💋

For fans of My Year of Rest and anything Ottesa Moshfegh, The New Me and Boy Parts.

Meh. Does ponder the age old question of "do I wanna be with her or BE her?" which I enjoy; but mostly Meggie's psychosexual obsession and Sebine's European coolness gets boring.

Nightshift was a story of intoxicating infatuation and obsession, an exploration of sexuality and queerness, and an addictive read.

I was always dying to carry on when I’d finished and loved the experience of listening to it. It wasn’t really what I was expecting at first but it was so much better than that, and it really deserves the highest of praise.

There are some very emotional and challenging elements to the book from start to finish, as we explore the characters and learn more about their experiences and interactions. The ending was unexpected but it really finished the story off perfectly and in a very believable, finite way.

I really do think that Nightshift will stay with me for a very long time and would highly recommend it. 5 stars.

Such a boring book for such edgy themes. I wanted it to be darker, sexier, maybe more unhinged?? But it was dull and the writing was lackluster. I simply didn’t care. Other books do the disaffected 20-something thing much better, this was not worth it.

So incredibly chaotic, and not something I’d normally read. Anti heroes are the main characters and if you just ride with it, it’s super interesting. It reminded me of trainspotters.

This book is positioned to be everything I’d want from a story about obsessive female friendship but it’s hard to like when it’s a character-driven novel with almost no character development. Honestly, I could have written Sabine with my eyes closed, and I’m not a particularly skilled writer.
