Actually I give it 3 1/2 stars.

How many fiction writers will be happy to know that their unpublished or unpopular works still live in the Well. :-) I like this version of Thursday a bit more than the first two of Fforde's books in this series. She is a little more 'real' in this part of the story. I can't get over how well Fforde can blend fiction and reality ...fictionally of course.

Nice concept for the series, it's just too technical and hard to follow and not interesting to me! I was ready to be done with it as soon as I started.

I continue to improve my opinion of the Thursday Next books with each new one I read.

A bit slower, or rather it took longer to get to the action in this, than the previous books. I enjoyed myself so much while reading it though.
I'll take a break from Thursday Next now but will return soon. Fforde - write book eight soon because I'll be there sooner than you can say ketchup

Some laugh-out-loud moments, a play on 'that that' and 'had had' to rival 'who's on first', and the same Thursday we've loved from the first two books. What this one has is a lot of death, and what it lacks is enough Pickwick ("she wrote with a sad 'plock').

I'm very much enjoying this series. It's not very often that I want to move straight on to the next book, but I find myself picking up the next book immediately.

I find this series very funny, very much my sense of humour. Very witty.

I liked the link in this book to his other series, Nusery Crimes. I'll be reading those shortly!

I'd recommend this series to my book club and to those who aren't casual readers and to those who have read a few classics, as lots were mentioned in this book.
