Extremely difficult and painful to read, but an essential source to confront one of the most important issues plaguing our society.
"I Said Yes" has stuck with me for quite sometime now and is quite possibly the most harrowing story I have ever read.

If I could have every woman everywhere read this book, I would. I can almost guarantee there’s at least one story that they would relate to. It was a hard read, but worth it to not feel alone and knowing I’m not the only one who feels some type of way about rape culture. If you’re willing and able, read this book.

I wanted to scream the entire time I was reading this book. This is a wide range of essays that speak to the pervasive threat of sexual violence that hangs over us all. It boils my blood to hear of every injustice, every self-censored thought, every act of mental gymnastics victims must suffer, often with little recourse. All the more enraging is seeing just how common and relentless rape culture is — these accounts are a mere drop in the bucket, though hopefully writing about their experiences has helped these authors on their path to reclaim their autonomy and exorcise these demons. Everyone should read this book.
