The 1994 film was a big influence on me as a child. Reading the book did not disappoint. It’s as intelligent, emotional and accessible as I hoped.

I read this book once when I was like 11 and didn’t know much English yet, and have spent so long trying to find it. 
It has such a clear message, and makes it so personal by showing it through the perspective of a horse.
