I’ve read so much that it's not often nowadays that a book will have a deep and profound effect on me, but this book... this damn book... 

I felt this story on a on a feministic, emotional, social justice, and right in the ouch-y feels kind of level that I found myself actually sobbing at one point, but then, strangely, I was laughing only a few pages later. 

This is actually the first book where I fully annotated and wrote notes on my experience with the book through a series of colour sticky notes to show a visual representation of how I felt while I was reading. It wasn't until I finished the book and reflected on all those coloured tabs at just how much yellow (funny/feel good moments) and pink (romance and spice), were mixed in with the orange (red flags/ anger) and blue (sad). And, if not the actual content of the book itself, but I think the tabs made me realise that in relationships containing domestic/emotional abuse, there is also some very sweet, romantic, and happy times. It only served as a reminder of it not always bad... it's not always doom and demise... but that's why it's so challenging to leave a relationship like this. 

I stand with those who are experiencing domestic/ emotional abuse. I also stand with those who have broken the cycle and said 'it ends with us'.

Antes de dar mi opinión del libro me gustaría dar dos puntos:

1. It Ends with us se agrega a la lista de los pocos libros que me han hecho llorrar, especialmente por la nota de la autora, yo era un mar de lágrimas.
2. IT ENDS WITH US NO ES UN LIBRO DE ROMANCE REPITO NO ES UN LIBRO DE ROMANCE Y no debería venderse como tal y menos como un YA, es una novela adulta.

Ahora si, dejando en claro sobre todo el segundo punto puedo comenzar, esta es una historia super complicada de leer, no por que sea lenta, al contrario, si no por las situaciones por las que Lily, su mamá y Atlas pasan, hubo una escena en específico con la que me dieron ganas de vomitar del coraje y de todo lo que esta pasando.
Creo que Colleen hiso un muy buen trabajo retratando una relación abusiva, el cómo empiezan a conocerse, como hay pequeños indicios al principio pero una decide ignorarlos, hasta el momento en el que todo explota y ya es tarde para salirse de la manera sensilla (por que siempre se puede salir, solo que después es muchísimo más complicado), es un excelente libro cuando hablamos de el lado en el que representa una relación abusiva, pero hubo algo que hiso que yo en lo personal no le diera las 5 estrellas, y es que yo sentía que te metía una escena super fuerte y dura, en las que yo necesitaba tiempo para procesar y entender lo que había pasado, y en la siguiente página ya era todo jajaja jejeje, y se que muchísimas veces es asi, ese es el punto de una relación abusiva, pero algo no sentó bien en mi cuando pasaba ese tipo de dinámicas en el libro, pero de ahí en fuera excelente. 
podría decir mucho más sobre la novela, sobre las situaciones por las que Lily pasa y como reaccionaba ante ellas, como me hacían sentir sus reacciones, pero ya sería spoiler y pues ese no es el chiste, lo único que puedo agregar es que es un libro que te hace empatizar con la situación en la uqe, desgraciadamente, muchas mujeres viven cada dia, y darte cuenta de por qué no es tan fácil salir de esas mismas situaciones.

I read this book in two days. which is very quick for someone who is a slow reader and takes her time to get through a book. BUT this book was a major page turner it kept me on my toes wanting to flip page after page and not put it down. It’s a very emotional read and i didn’t expect to like it as much as i did! I cried when i reached the end. This book broke my heart in the most beautiful way possible. Colleen Hoover knows how to deliver emotions and she did it perfectly through this book :)

Other than the annoying names (I mean, Lily Bloom? Atlas? Ryle? Just no . . .), the fact that the book started very slow, and the

, it was a really good book. I was not expecting much since I'm more of a fantasy reader than a contemporary romance reader but I wanted to give It Ends With Us a shot anyway and I was not disappointed.

I'm going to issue a big old trigger warning since this book's main theme is (domestic) abuse. It is not often that a romance book leaves me thinking, but that's exactly what It Ends With Us did. I was fortunate enough to come from a fairly stable home, and like addressed in the book, I always wondered "why doesn't she just leave him?" when domestic abuse came up. Reading about things from Lily's point of view gave me some insight into abusive relationships. It's not something that is talked about nearly enough, and that avoidance causes ignorance. I would have never thought about it the way Lily explained had I not read this book since the solution always seemed so "simple" from an outsider's perspective. I did not cry about this book as many others did but knowing that people live through this (especially knowing Colleen Hoover went through this) was also such a reality check. We are all so groomed to hunt for "true love" that we are willing to put up with horrendous situations to get it. 

I have thought about this topic so much since finishing this book but don't seem to have any coherent thoughts to share with you guys so I guess I'll just recommend you read it and see for yourself. Thank you to Colleen Hoover for spreading the awareness. Domestic abuse is one of those silent killers, and like most things, talking about it can feel so empowering for so many and hopefully improve many people's situations.

this story is definitely sad, but i was confused at the end of the book because i was like, where are the pools of tears? at what moment was i supposed to be crying like everyone else on my fyp?  i yearn for stories like that, which take me out of myself and make me feel their pain, but i didn’t with this novel. it seemed obvious that she should

after the first incident. if anything, it did help me understand the mindset of a woman experiencing what lily experiences. it didn’t quite bring up those feelings for me but i totally get how others would feel a deep connection to the story.
