“The truth wouldn't set her free. Far from it. The truth was a Pandora's box and she had to keep the lid firmly closed”

This book had so many cleverly thought out twist & turns, it kept me captivated! The storyline behind it was really clever too, where you are constantly second guessing everything & everyone. The only thing i felt that let the book down slightly, and why i only gave a rating of 3 stars, was because it did seem to drag in the middle slightly and became a little repetitive. The flips between the past and present also really confused me at first and i wasn’t sure what was going on?

However, i still would recommend it as a really good thriller read. The characters were really thought out which added so well to the plot and the setting was really interesting and creepy, I just think the book could of been slightly shorter making the end as good as the start!

i dragged reading this book, it was honestly good towards the end.
but there was a lot going on between flipping from 1980 & present it was hard to follow in the beginning because of it. BUT towards the end when it all fell into place it made sense & had me going back to fact check.
it took me 6 days to finish this book when normally i read a book in 2 days.
i kept pushing through solely because i wanted answers to where the girls were or what happened to them.
it’s a good read for people who enjoy the pot thickening before getting down to the answers.
i am not one of those people.

Didn't enjoy this book at all. Took me ages to get through. Now I know when I've seen a claire Douglas book I've put it down again.
