This book commits the worst of sins. Setting up the heroine to be one thing, and then none of that set up matters as she sits in the corner and does jack diddly squat.

This was... something. I've said before how if I don't like the main characters of the book, I'd probably won't like the book and that's exactly what happened here.
Our heroine, like I get she's naive but... she was just plain dumb and irresponsible in her actions. I couldn't connect with her at all.
The hero is possibly one of the worst spies I've ever seen but that's not why I didn't liked him, I dislike him because Baldwin is a rude antisocial bully inconsiderate elitist sexist pig.
That mixed with the weird unrealistic plot and the sometimes too pompous and over dramatic dialogue it was too much for me.
This was a miss for me.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was somehow not invested in this... i figured out who the bad guys were immedieately after they were introduced by the manner they were introduced (by name and lenghty introduction, several times... while people of same station didnt get introduced likewise) and also didnt really ship Madalene and Baldwin... was only interested in side characters.
