This is my favourite June read. It was intense. The story of how Algeria remained a present absence for an immigrant family in France. And how descendants were caught in a time loop between the mystery of Algeria and the rejection of France, as well as the harrowing experiences of the immigrant generation. Quite a great read.

It was interesting to learn the history between Algeria and France (French Algeria 1830-1962) and the ramifications of history echoed to present days.
However the plot is very slow and unengaging, I struggled to finish.
