I’m always a fan of Jewell. She writes mysteries that are more just… suspenseful. I kept trying to guess what had happened and I needed to know. But this one also dealt with a lot
of sexual assault. Not necessarily super graphic. But very much a main part of the plot.

I love Lisa's writing. This one is probably the most graphic and terrifying of all her books I've read. I had the bad guy figured out half way through, but the way it all unraveled was crazy. Then that ending just threw a wrench in the whole story. I loved it. There were multiple monsters. Terrifying that some of them are those that are supposed to help expose monsters or fix them. The story got so complicated and confusing for the longest time. There were so many POVs and trying to keep up with them wasn't easy. Still overall loved this book. She's just such a great writer and makes the story come together.

Was a slow burner compared to Jewel’s other books I’ve read. The last few chapters did have me hooked though which I did enjoy. Only a slight plot twist but again was perhaps more predictable than other suspense novels.

I’m sorry but literally nothing happened. Like everything was so obvious. I’m he characters had like no personality. One POV was literally so unnecessary. I just did not emoji this at all. I was beyond bored. That being said I do like the topics and discussions about relevant and serious topics.

I was really excited to read this book because I really enjoyed the first book I read from Lisa Jewell. The different narrators and the plot itself was really interesting but unfortunately the ending was really lacklustre and for that, I could only give it 2 stars.
I’m definitely still interested to read some more of her books as I still have high hopes!
