This was okay. I read it right after Elle Madison’s Twisted Pages series and it unfortunately did not impress like Elle’s work did. They both have the same exact premise so I had to compare them. They are both based on fairytale retellings and have an “evil” mother who adopts girls that will eventually play out the different princesses of the retellings.
Elle’s series just seemed more mature. The characters were more reasonable, logical, smarter. The motives more clear and the stakes higher. Chanda’s series felt more juvenile and less intense. The story and characters were not as compelling as Elle’s, sad to say.
This would be fine for those really straight cut YA readers who just want some entertainment. The twists are good enough. There are more retellings woven into this series so there’s more to enjoy. That is, if you liked the writing and what not. Overall, it really wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t as good as other series of the same category.
If you liked this premise, however, I suggest trying out Twisted Pages by Elle Madison.

"...be as beautiful as diamonds, cold as ice, formidable like the ocean, and as wicked as they come."
such a predictable and cliche story, but oh my gosh i love it so much! although if i'm being honest, i prefer Rosalie to be evil and vengeful, i mean, with all the ridicule and betrayal she endured, i wanted her to be a vengeful villainess. BE EVIL, GIRL! YOU HAVE MY SUPPORT!!!
i regret Pru's absence in the final chapters, like, she was the only person Rosalie could call a friend in Baist, but WHERE IS SHE???? also, i didn't really like the romance part, it felt rushed, i even laughed at the part where Xander declared his love for Rosalie, it was so ridiculous i couldn't hold back my laughter.
tbh, there are so many little things i don't like. well it is cliche and predictable, but i still enjoyed it.
Graphic: Blood and Death
Moderate: Confinement, Murder, War, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Vomit and Pregnancy
