I didn't hate this book, but I didn't really enjoy reading it very much either. The dialogue seemed forced and unnatural, and it didn't flow either. Although Coulter really thought she had a good puzzler here, I was not surprised at any time while reading this book--it was that predictable.

The first time I read this I was like fifteen or something and I thought it was one of the best thriller books ever (I had just outgrown romance at that point). So when I got the opportunity to read it almost a decade later, I thought I'd be having a fun time but no, I hate it. I don't want to shit on my younger self but I don't see what she saw in this. It's so bad, the MC is meh, the villain insufferable and the plot meandering. I wish I can say something good about this book but I can't.

This book started off really strong and had an interesting plot. I liked the characters but wasn’t super attached to them. After a while the book kind of started to drag and repeat itself and you could kind of predict what would happen. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed it.

I liked the characters, setting, plot. I just thought the interactions and dialogue were too unbelievable and unnatural. It took away too much from the good in the book for me. It was almost even awkward having Sherlock and Savich around. It was more than a cameo, but might as well have just been that.
