I’m not sure why I’m still reading this series when it’s clearly not for me. This was a chore to get through, and the only thing it made me feel was a tiny bit sad for Orpheus. I just do not care for anything in this series, and at this point I don’t even get what the point of it all is? If it’s nothing, then I guess it’s doing its job well!

In the past I haven't enjoyed the extra stories in this series as much because I want to get back to the main timeline, but I must say this collection was quite good. I love when Gaiman brings his world into established mythological/historical traditions and this collection did not disappoint on that front. If I had to pick, I'd say my favourites were August and Ramadan.

I've read the distant Mirrors Series and the Orpheus book is good, it was interesting and creatively done. The next two books in the series get less interesting as we move along. The book about Augustus was interesting, but not great. The final book about Emperor Norton was the least interesting, though there was a character I quite like who we will probably never see again.
The Convergence series, did not really interest me.
And Finally I have read the last of the Distant Mirror Ramadan, I enjoyed this one as well. Of course I have a fondness for the Arabian Nights.

Fables and Reflections is yet another collection of standalone stories which are loosely connected to Morpheus. It shows several famous fables in a new light from the perspective of the dream world. Dream has this special ability to be whatever it can be. This helps to show all these new stories without having to worry about them breaking any natural laws. This freedom allows Gaiman to adapt these fables in a way he wants to show. It is harder to feel related to a character as their screen space is less.
