As if you sat down and had a charming conversation with the underrated actress herself! She's fabulous and kind, defending minorities left and right as well as being honest and upfront about her experiences with other people in the business, her political beliefs, and her life. Also her comments and worries about the political strata of the nation kind of predate/predict things to come whether we liked it or not.

I absolutely adore the films of Myrna Loy, especially when she worked with William Powell. She’s so wonderful in them, so charming and elegant. I’m happy that she comes across exactly the same in her memoir. Reading it, feels like you’re chatting over dinner about her life. Loy gives an interesting account of her time during the Golden Age of Hollywood. She has marvelous stories of her time as a major star and it feels like she knew just about everyone in Hollywood. Her stories never feel gossipy but of a honest account of her perspective of an individual or event.
I wasn’t very familiar with Myrna Loy’s work as a liberal activist but it’s obvious that is where she gets the most fulfillment. She had been involved with Democratic politics for much of her life so it was interesting to hear her perspective. I personally liked Loy’s recollection of her relationship with Eleanor Roosevelt.
The only bad part of this book was that it ended.
