This was my first exposure to Brian Panowich, and while reading about criminals is not really my thing, I did enjoy his writing, so I am not opposed to trying more of his work.

A quick little read that gives you the story before the story. I loved Bull Mountain and this was great too. I'm looking forward to reading Books #2 and #3. I hadn't realized that it continued in a series or I would have already picked these up.

Best short story to come out of 2019 where Panowich humanize Garrett and makes us weep for the Burroughs clan.

well I read this before Bull Mountain and I feel like maybe I should have read this after? Woops. Still pretty good though, dark and moody in the best way!

Nice set up for the first book in the series. Am interested to start on the actual novels now.
