Very enlightening book, and very relevant to the subject of creavitiy in organization. I read it for my Master's thesis, and will probably read it again and again!

A mesh of biography, advice, and business-management that serves an interesting story of the creation and running of Pixar.

Side Notes
• Irony abounds with how often the author talks about accountability, introspection, taking a look at management, open door policies, honesty, etc. and how Lasseter was fired in 2018 for rampant sexual harassment...
• I like the back story and creative process behind the major Pixar films. It's fun to hear why they had so many bangers.
•I was really wish he mentioned the Pixar Universe theory.
•The section on the Disney/Pixar merger was really interesting, especially in regards to the differing company cultures. Do we miss Bob Iger or what.

Many “business books” or accounts of how an organization began and grew are very focused on growth, and the philosophy that drives it.

This is the first book I’ve read that, while written by a leader of a massive organization, focuses on how to foster, grow, and preserve creativity; even when moving from 43 to 1,200+ employees.

While obviously written from the perspective of the history and continued growth of a company, I found the entire book very applicable to myself as both a creative person, and someone within a “creative” career.

Solidly entertaining, with several helpful lessons/reminders both as an artist and in my day job.
