4.5. Literally the only part of this I didn't like was Phil. I understand he's depressed, that's not my issue with him, my issue with him is that when he believes (falsely) that his wife is having an affair, instead of accepting his own part in that - his complete lack of attention to her, their marriage, or her (and his, honestly!) well-being - he is cruel to her. And then Sam thinks she should be the one to apologize and when Phil finally manages to get his own out it is so fucking underwhelming after all he's put her through, for half a damn year. You keep hearing about how healthy Phil's and Sam's relationship is compared to Nisha and Carl and I think it's just that you're comparing yourselves to such a low damn bar, kids, because that is not what that was. Sam should've ended up with her girls around her at the end, not Joel who she barely knows and not Phil, who is so selfish I wanted to scream at him. Without that though, it would've honestly been a perfect book for me - found family and odious little men getting what's coming to them.

This book was pretty good. I enjoyed the characters and their development throughout. I listened to the audiobook which was read by daisy ridley who was 1000000/10. I probably wouldve liked this book more if i hadnt stopped halfway through to read iron flame but priorities

Solid 3.5 stars

This book was a fun, easy, at times emotional read. I think it was a little long and predictable. I really wanted the women to go on more of an adventure to really stick it to Carl but alas, didn’t happen.
