Even though I really enjoyed reading this book, I didn’t think it was quite as good as the first one. I don’t think there was as many good twists in it that shocked me, like the first one did.
I still love all the characters, excluding Valentine, he’s a nob.

This book was better than the first one, so much more happened and every chapter made me want to read more. This book was also a lot funnier than the first one, i laughed so hard. There were so many shocking things and i didn't predict any of the things that happened in this book, it was really fun to read and i enjoyed it, however, i would not re-read it even though it was really good.

I still hate it that Jace and Clary are siblings!! All this time I hope that one of them was adopted or something, so they could be together (probably not happening since Clary will meet a new guy in the next part -I read that on the back of th book :( )

it took me way to long to finish this book... i can't handle the fact that clary and jace are siblings and it made the whole book weird. i liked the action a lot and the relationship between simon and clary blossoming and then finally ENDING!! i love how clary and simon's relationship can now blossom as a sibling bond instead of forcing that relationship crap onto her. also simon turning into a vampire is one of the most amazing things to happen in this book and the drama between alec and magnus im SCREAMING help!!! overall this was a 3.5 because after the ~150 page point i really did get sucked in and i feel very accomplished after completing this story. this is the end of the review and i hope that you enjoy my amazing comments on this book.

I couldn't keep reading this I felt like I was losing brain cells with each chapter. This series isn't at all what I expected. I thought it would be...bigger...more. But it's really just your basic YA teenage love triangle with supernatural thrown in and a weak plot. I probably would have loved this when I was 13.

Somehow this book didn't info dump as much as the first but really really felt like it. The relationship between the two main characters just makes me feel gross. While I again state that I have seen the TV show and the Movie so I know what happens, it doesn't change how gross it was to hear them talk to each other like that. Seeing Simon go through a bit of a character change was enjoyable at the least, while he did seem super anxious, it was better than him acting all entitled to Clary at all times.
Point off for not fitting the YA genre because I felt like throughout the book they were just trying to establish to much for the rest of the series that one couldn't enjoy this for what it was supposed to be.
All-in-all, I did not like it. I found it way to contrite and derivative.
