I have no words. Amazing. If you loved Crescent City , ACOTAR, From Blood and Ash or anything similar you will be captivated by this book. I’m kicking myself because I am jonesing for more.

This may not be the Xander you want right now (@ Fourth Wing) but it's the Xander you need. This was the romantasy that I was looking for with Fourth Wing and it's so much better. This is not a deep thought-provoking read. It's just vibes, and the vibes are good <3 idk if I'll read further in the series because I'm bad at series and the romantasy mood may have passed, but it does have potential. Give it a shot.

I ended up choosing to read this randomly and I went into this book blind but I honestly really enjoyed it.

This started out so strong, but at least 300 pages of this was just our main character asking questions and then people answering them. The info-dumping made it hard for me to retain the important information and politics of the world. I also felt absolutely no chemistry between Romy and Zander. I think it could've benefited from being edited down a bit.

That being said, it has an exciting twist right in the middle, and I thought the ending was exciting too!

LOVED IT. the beginning wasn’t a lot of magic and i thought it was useless info we were getting but actually it was all very necessary to understand later things and a good build up.

the character were very realistic. i loved romy and at no point did her choices make me question her which is rare. zander, i feel, was written very realistically. he can be mean, he made remarks at romy, and made sure she knew he was watching her every move but thays what’s i would expect from someone who just lost both his parents at the end hand of his fiancée on their wedding night lol i wouldn’t ever trust anyone again 😭

another thing i loved was the worldbuilding!!! and i thought it was very realistic that not EVERYONE hated princess romeria, i liked that elisaf for some reason gave her a chance and we got to see her true self through that friendship he offered. it showed how divided the people of islor were depending on their background and lives.

also elisaf hot as fuck. loved him.
