I’m in the midst of moving houses, but I found time to read this adorable picture book. I heard the author and illustrator speak about it at BookCon and loved hearing the inspiration behind it. The author was packing for a trip when her daughter kept throwing things into her bag (“just in case...”) including a toy microphone, “just in case you want to sing”. And the illustrations are based on the artist’s desire to create a book where children could find themselves in the faces. It’s a beautiful book and story.

Poetic text and whimsical illustrations. Not much of a plot, more like a long poem.

The text was cute, which was a bonus, but really I'm just here for Robinson's illustrations! He's one of my faves and I really liked the images in this book.
