This book is a masterpiece and I want Nathan Hill to call me. There are parts that are so smart, dynamics that are so well-depicted. I’m getting my PhD in Health Behavior and this book made me want to barf. I’ll be assigning this as reading to my introductory epidemiology students next quarter because it pulls on a lot of the things I teach about (place as a social determinant of health, study design/placebo, social support, eck cetera).

So tedious and so many tangents. Otherwise a lovely story, but by the end I had it on double speed praying it would just be over.
