Birdie Kaminsky is a petty thief that has grown up with stealing ingrained in her lifestyle. After all this time of stealing, she wants to start a new life. One where she doesn't have to look over her shoulder. Birdie has a clue to a family treasure from Civil war times, but she just has a tiny newspaper clipping to go by.

When Birdie starts searching for the treasure in this little town called Liberty, Ohio where she ends up meeting this reporter named Hugh. Hugh and Birdie have amazing sexual chemistry and you can't but help feel the tension every time they are in a room together. While staying in Liberty, Birdie makes friends with a shotgun of a lady named Theodora and she finds out she might have clues to the treasure.

Even though the book is about a treasure, it is about redeeming yourself even after everything that has happened in your life. Treasure Me was a mix of mystery, love and history all into one and a very lovely read.

Cute and upbeat

An optimistic tale of second chances. No surprises for me, but it was a nice enough mixture of everyday life mixed with hope and a bit of the ridiculous along with some romance.

I've had this one for awhile, after Ms. Nolfi approached me about reading and reviewing. After finishing it, I wish I'd read it sooner. It was a fun read, and one that will strike a nerve with a lot of people.

Birdie started out (for me) like any other heroine I've read about this year. I started yawning. But then something happened that I wasn't expecting: she suddenly developed depth and became more than just a thief who wanted to make good. I ended up relating to her in a way that I never dreamed possible.

Hugh, on the other hand, I never really liked. I just didn't get him and after awhile, I stopped trying. Maybe I just didn't like him as a reported. I'm not totally sure.

Some of the supporting characters were a little tough to figure out (there were a lot of them), but it wasn't enough to make me want to stop. I was too interested in the plot and figure out where things were going. I wanted so badly for things to work out for Birdie and I wanted to see where she'd end up.

The story twists, it turns, and it flows. It sucked me in and helped me to overlook the couple of things that I didn't care for (see above). I can definitely see fans of chick lit and romance loving this one. Hefty dose of the romance without ever descending into trash. I appreciated that.

Overall, because I liked a lot more than I didn't, I'm giving this a 'Drool Worthy' rating.

Birdie didn't really have the best start in life - dragged around from town to town by her mother, she doesn't really have anywhere to call home. It isn't really surprising that she has followed in her mother's footsteps and lives life on the road, getting by by stealing whatever she can. When she finds out that there is a family heirloom supposedly hidden in Liberty, Ohio, she sees her way out of the life she's fallen into. She heads to Liberty to search for the heirloom, along the way meeting Hugh, a reporter, with whom she ends up sharing a flat. The story follows her search and her relationship with Hugh, who ends up sticking around for much longer than he anticipated...

The main thing I loved about this book was its pacing. It's not a short book, at 415 pages, but it didn't feel long at all. There weren't any slow parts and I wanted to read the book at any chance I got. The plot is well written, with interesting twists and a nice balance between description and dialogue. The characters were believeable, although at times I did find Hugh to be a little one-dimensional. Nolfi more than made up for that with her characterisation of Birdie, though. Despite the fact that she's a criminal, she's actually pretty loveable. Her 'heart is in the right place' as they say. She does actually want to make a go of her life and live 'normally', but things just never seem to work out that way.

I enjoyed watching Birdie and Hugh's relationship develop, even though it was frustrating at times. I guess the tension makes it more believeable - no relationship is smooth sailing. Her interactions with others in the town were interesting and amusing at times too. Despite only being in town to find the heirloom, and despite trying to convince herself that she hates the locals, Birdie actually begins to care about people more than she'll admit. It's nice to see her begin to build the life she wanted but wasn't sure how to achieve.

So if you're looking for a mystery novel with a little added romance, fun characters and an engaging plot, then I'd recommend this! I read the e-book, but the paperback is out on Amazon today - go grab yourself a copy!

This book is a little bit of mystery, a little bit of history, and a little bit of romance. When the story opens, there are two characters running from their past. Birdie has ruined yet another chance for home with her thieving ways. Hugh is almost left without a job after screwing up his latest journalism job by getting involved with a woman he shouldn't have been involved with. When Birdie and Hugh both blow into Liberty, Ohio, the stage is set for extreme tension of all sorts as they are forced to share an apartment above the Second Chance Grill (whose inhabitants I fell in love with)....
