THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS While I loved this series as a whole this last book in the trilogy was… L O N G. It felt long. There were a lot of past stories that were peppered in that really were superfluous. Stories that were being retold from another character’s POV but really offered no new insight or thoughts. And then there were a lot of the same long winded descriptions of their angst and love.
**SPOILER ALERT**The part that really just irritated me was Merlin. All this time, in this story full of secrets & lies, he drops the bomb that he is in fact some sort of Wizard. The whole story 2.75 books worth you think this story is set in our current reality but in fact it’s fantasy. Ok fine. But why? Why wait until then? Of all the times he could have intervened why then? So much unnecessary sorrow & pain for what?
And don’t get me started on Ash. Dead. While sure, the story prepared you for a main character death and you knew something was coming it just felt weak for a “plot twist.” But J/K he faked his death. Ok but why? For what purpose? Just so Greer & Embry could have a few months of alone time without him? They were all tired of living the lie of being in a throuple but never telling anyone. Ash especially, he ALWAYS wanted to share his love for Embry with the world. So Ash decides to die so he could spend the rest of his life in hiding on a horse farm and never leaving?
While the happy ending was sweet and the reunion was something you’ve been waiting for the whole series it just all felt rushed and thrown together in the last 20% of the book. So much happens so quickly in those last few pages it’s a lot to catch up on and accept but they did finally after reincarnations gets their happily ever after.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS SO PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
It took me a long time to get into this book. Part of it was I was listening to it on Audible, and the male narrator was not my favorite for this genre of books. My friend gave me the suggestion to speed up his portions and that helped tremendously. The other thing was, I hated the way book two ended. It left me with this dread of where this story would go, and I had worked it up in my mind that I just didn't want to go there. I just thought that the story was not going to end the way I wanted it to. Anyways, I did push past that, but even still this one was kind of a slog for me. It just annoyed the crap out of me the, we're enemies, but not really......I dunno...it just didn't do it for me. I love Sierra Simone's writing so much. I did enjoy this. It just wasn't my favorite of her.

Y'ALL SHE HAD ME SO STRESSED!
I have loved this series, it has made me laugh and filled my heart with joy on multiple occasions, and in its final chapters it has had me weeping and inconsolable.
The trio are perfect together, and after spending a big chunk of this book thinking we were losing Embry... we lost Ash instead.
And then he's back, and it's okay, and everything is fine, and I'm so happy with the outcome. His sacrifice and pure love was undeniable.
